Valentine’s Day on the English Riviera gives lovers the opportunity to express their emotions in a special way, to people they adore and love. You may celebrate by going out for a special dinner at a restaurant; others choose this day to propose or to get married. The majority of people will send greetings cards or give jewellery, flowers, usually roses, or chocolates to their admirers. Whether you are spending the day with friends or with a special someone, our Holiday Apartments in Paignton will provide an ideal base from which to explore romantic places and activities in the area around South Devon’s beautiful bay on the English Riviera.
Enjoy a romantic meal
The majority of restaurants in the area create a special Valentine’s menu, although it may be advisable to make your booking in advance. On the stretch of road between Paignton and Torquay, you will discover some of the most renowned restaurants in the area. Thariks Restaurant, Cilantro and Quo Vadis are just some of those located on Torquay Road in Paignton.
What better way to spend your evening than with a leisurely, romantic stroll along the Promenade, a delightful cosy meal for two, followed by an evening spent snuggled together in your warm, cosy room at the Bedford Holiday Apartments? For Valentine’s Day we can arrange a bottle of bubbly and flowers to be placed in any of our Paignton self catering apartments, ready for your arrival.
A romantic rail journey
Take a journey from Paignton to Kingswear on the steam train, travelling along the magnificent coastline and through the enchanted woods, before you alight at Kingswear harbour town. You could continue your romantic route aboard the Dartmouth passenger ferry along the river to Dartmouth where a magical visit to the Castle is guaranteed to bring romance into the air.
A secluded beach stroll
Wrap up well and walk hand in hand with your loved one along the South West Coast Path with several different routes to choose from, all with stunning sea and beach views. You can take the route from Torquay to Meadfoot beach where if you plan it just so, you can watch the sun going down.
Take to the sea
Board the ferry at Brixham and take the journey to Torquay for a small return fee. You will see superb views of the coastline and if you are lucky you may spot a seal or a dolphin frolicking in the surf. Stop off at Torquay for some local fish and chips; what is more romantic than eating them out of the paper whilst watching the tide roll in at Torre Abbey Sands?
Why don’t you consider spending an extended break at the same time as your Romantic Valentine’s day on the English Riviera? Our Paignton self catering apartments are all luxuriously appointed, and perfectly located for all of the attractions and events that the area offers. Free car parking for the length of your stay is included, as most of the amenities are within walking distance of our apartments in Paignton.
